Revd Dr. John Walker
Dover Team Rector
  Reverend Josias de Souza
Mission Priest

John came to faith in 1977 and was ordained priest ten years later and has served churches in the Diocese of Salisbury, Llandaff and Manchester before moving to West Kent in 2007 and then Dover in 2015. He wants to see people become spiritually fruitful and discover their own unique gifts and ministries.

John is married to Canon Jocelyn Walker, Canterbury Diocesan Director of Ordinands and Vocations Advisor. He has five grown up children, six grandchildren — and two wayward Dalmatians.

John has overall oversight of the Dover Town Team of Churches but also has particular pastoral responsibility for St Mary’s.

Josias joined the Dover Town Team from the Diocese of Recife in Brazil.  Ordained in 2004, he served as minister in charge of children’s and youth ministry in a large city church in which he saw a group of 10 teenagers grow to some 300 every Sunday evening.  He then served on the staff of Recife Cathedral implementing strategy and developing new mission projects.

He is accompanied by his wife Danielle and their children Daniel  and Leticia.

Josias oversees mission and evangelism throughout the Dover Town Team of Churches but also has particular pastoral responsibility for a new afternoon congregation.

Nigel Collins
Assistant (Lay) Minister
  Revd Sean Sheffield
Assistant Curate
Nigel was first licensed as a Reader in 1998 whilst serving in the Army and has been part of the Buckland church-family for over 20 years.  Until recently Nigel worked on the Buckland estate as lay minister of Cross-Links; he now works for the diocese as Warden of Readers and Pastoral Secretary.

Nigel is married to Anne, with 5 children and 5 grandchildren.

Nigel has particular responsibility for the Sunday congregation at St Andrew's and the Friday (Messy Church) congregation at St Nicholas.

Sean joined the team in 2017, and was ordained Priest in 2018 as he continues his training to be a Vicar, having spent time at Trinity College, Bristol. Before he felt called to ministry he managed the UK and European Call Centres for a premium audio brand and enjoyed building teams that had a community feel within them.
Sean is married to Ruth, has 2 children and a wonderfully crazy Dalmatian called Angel. He is a cycling enthusiast, although doesn't get out and about as much as he would like which is in part due to the massive hills surrounding Dover!
