Weddings
To be married at one of our churches one of you must live in the parish or have an acceptable family connection to the church. You can find out what parish you live in by entering your postcode in the A Church Near You website: www.achurchnearyou.com
-
If you have been married before, we will need to ask about your previous relationship and have proof that your previous marriage has been dissolved.
-
We will need to check proof of your identity; normally this will be a valid British passport/recognised photographic ID along with proof of residence (if you do not have a valid passport, then we can advise on what evidence is acceptable).
-
The cost of a marriage at St Andrew’s church is set by law and the church councils and is reviewed annually. There are additional charges if you’d like us to provide an organist or bellringer – these are optional. For the current fees please contact us.
-
If either of you live in another parish you will need to arrange for your banns to be read in that parish; there is a small fee payable to that parish.
-
One of our clergy team will want to meet with you as part of the marriage preparation process.
-
A rehearsal is normally held a few days before the wedding service.
Sometimes couples who have been married for some time may wish to renew their wedding vows, dedicate new wedding rings or celebrate a special anniversary. Please contact us if you’d like to find out more.
